| Council Bluffs Swim Club Newsletter Monday January 23, 2012 NO PRACTICE BLUE & GOLD GROUPS TUESDAY JANUARY 24TH Lewis Central will be hosting the CB High School Boys City Championships on Tuesday. The meet will start at 7:00pm. CBSC swimmers are invited to attend. Admission will be free for CBSC swimmers and family. NOTE: Senior Group Swimmers will practice on Tuesday at 3: 30pm. DEADLINE: Thursday February 9th MEET WORKERS Again CBSC will need everyone’s help in hosting our final meet for this season. The Midwestern D1 Qualifier Meet & 8&Under Championships February 17-19 will have 7 sessions of swimming. 11&O swimmers will swim on Friday Night, Saturday and Sunday morning plus swim on Saturday and Sunday evening if they make finals. 10&Under swimmers will swim both Saturday and Sunday Afternoon. ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING MONDAY FEBRUARY 13TH!!!! CBSC will have an organizational meeting on Monday February 13th at 5:30pm during practice to set up what we need to host this meet as far as workers and hostipitality. PLEASE ATTEND!!!! DECEMBER ATTENDANCE During the month of December the following swimmers had the best attendance in their practice groups. Blue Group: Luke Meyer 12 days, Gold I: Clara Teigland 13 days, Gold II: Olivia Barnes 10 days; Gold III: Zachary Shudak 14 days; Gold IV: Jackson Allmon 12 days and Seniors: Caleb Shudak 16 days. DECEMBER SWIMMER OF THE MONTH CALEB SHUDAK!!!!!! Caleb Shudak had a great month of swimming in December. Caleb achieved an A time in the 100 Fly, AA times in the 50 Free, 500 Free, 1000 Free and AAA times in the 100 & 200 Back. Caleb also set a team record in the Boys 13-14 200yd Back. |
Lewis Central Titan Hill Pool
| The main practice facility for CBSC is at the Lewis Central Titan Hill Pool. The pool is an 8 lane 25yd indoor facility with system and scoreboard. The pool is located at 3820 Harry Landon Blvd in Council Bluffs, Iowa which is just 3 blocks south on Highway 275 from the highway 92 & 275 intersection. The pool is centrally located to Omaha and the communities of Southwest Iowa. |
| Council Bluffs Swim Club The Council Bluffs Swim Club (CBSC) has been a year round competitive swim program since 1978. Our head coach, Bruce Schomburg, started the club in 1978 and is still running the program. Bruce is also the head coach for both boys and girls at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs and the pool manager and summer league coach for the Field Club of Omaha. |
